Windsor

Windsor is Canada’s southernmost city, located on the Detroit River between Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, across from Detroit, Michigan. The City of Windsor is home to over 200,000 people, with an additional 150,000 living in the surrounding municipalities of Essex County. The Greater Windsor Metropolitan Area is a thriving region, whose significant economic strength has been shaped and defined by the presence of the automotive industry. Windsor also serves as one of the busiest international crossings in the world, linking Ontario with the United States and Mexico along the NAFTA superhighway corridor. Over five million vehicles cross the Ambassador Bridge annually. The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel serves as the other means of entry from the United States, with the distinction of being the only international sub-aqueous car tunnel in the world.
