Line 21 Replacement Environmental and Socio-Economic Impact Assessment – NT

Enbridge Pipelines (NW) Inc. (Enbridge) recently completed the Line 21 Segment Replacement Project, which involved the installation of approximately 2.5 km of new 323.9 mm O.D. (NPS 12) pipeline under the Mackenzie River using a Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD). Dillon played a key role during the planning, approval, and construction phases of the project.

Our team provided support to Enbridge through oral hearings with the National Energy Board and Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board. Dillon completed baseline environmental studies for the project and completed various supporting documents including the NEB Section 58 Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment, Closure and Reclamation Plan, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, Spill Contingency Plan, Waste Management Plan and Environmental Protection Plans for both summer and winter construction. During construction, Dillon managed a team of environmental inspectors to ensure environmental compliance.
