David Amorim

David is a professional engineer licensed in MB, NT/NU, NL, and previously in AB, ON, NS, and NB. With 12 years of experience in structural transportation engineering, David has been involved in every aspect of structural engineering projects including preliminary design studies, detailed designs, inspections and rehabilitations of bridges, culverts, tunnels, and other key pieces of infrastructure and in particular, David has become an expert in the delivery of projects involving overhead sign support structures (OHSS) and traffic signal pole structures.

In recent years, David has specialized in the delivery of transportation projects in Canada’s far north with an extensive number of projects completed across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Beyond David’s project experience which has provided him with a deep appreciation for the technical and logistical challenges of delivering these types of projects, he has completed the Fundamentals of Arctic Engineering course through the University of Alaska. As part of David’s Master’s degree, he completed several advanced structural design courses and a thesis in the area of Accelerated Bridge Construction. David has also been a Sessional Instructor at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Civil Engineering.
