On September 28, 2017, Dillon completed the second Public Open House for the Queen Street Corridor Study in the Village of Bolton for the Town of Caledon, Ontario. The study created a new platform to assess the potential of Queen Street as a transformational project to improve the public realm network of Bolton and impacts to residential and commercial intensification along the 9 km corridor.
Through extensive public consultation, including community design meetings, Dillon developed a series of 3-D models and scenarios that focused on advancing active transportation and improvements to public areas. The public open house also featured a virtual reality (VR) station which allowed attendees to immerse themselves in the 3-D vision of an improved downtown condition. VR provides a new lens for the public to understand the full capabilities of transformative infrastructural renewal projects.
