Enbridge Pipelines (NW) Inc. (Enbridge) recently completed the Line 21 Segment Replacement Project, which involved the installation of approximately 2.5 kilometres of new 323.9 mm O.D. (NPS 12) pipeline under the Mackenzie River using a Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD).
Dillon played a key role during the planning, approval, and construction phases of the project, including supporting Enbridge through oral hearings with the NEB and Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board. Dillon completed baseline environmental studies for the project and completed various supporting documents including the NEB Sec. 58 Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment, Closure and Reclamation Plan, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan, Spill Contingency Plan, Waste Management Plan and Environmental Protection Plans for both summer and winter construction. During construction, Dillon managed a team of environmental inspectors to ensure environmental compliance.
Dillon is currently managing the 7-year Post-Construction Environmental Monitoring program for the project.
