ELA is a 12-person autonomous shuttle currently operating as a pilot project in both Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.

The Calgary pilot provided short-distance shuttle service from the Calgary Zoo LRT station to the TELUS Spark Science Centre. In Edmonton, three routes are being tested in Blachford (a commercial area north of the downtown), Chappelle Gardens (a suburban development in southwest Edmonton) and in Old Strathcona (an urban area in the heart of the City). Dillon will be assisting with compiling the data from the pilot project in cooperation with the City of Calgary, the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta to assess the use of this technology and gauge response from users.

Dillon’s work will include a case study report compiling the questions and responses from users and interviews from the host cities and Pacific Western Group staff operating the pilot projects.
