Bio

Suzanne has over 13 years of experience in transportation engineering including 10 years of experience in fire and emergency services planning. She has been involved with all phases of a number of strategic fire master planning studies, fire service reviews, operational and organizational reviews.  She has experience with all elements of these projects including project management, data collection, emergency response modelling, station location assessments, community risk assessments, development of recommendations and implementation plans, reporting and presenting study results.  

Through her project experience she has developed a comprehensive knowledge of operations and management of fire services and a strong understanding of public sector organizations. As an engineer, she has a background in conducting evaluations, research and analysis-based reviews.  She has a foundational understanding of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and a comprehensive understanding of the interconnections between ITS and Fire and Emergency Services.

Dillon was retained to develop a comprehensive risk assessment for Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, following the guidelines of National Fire Protection Association 1730 and 1300 standards.Read More

Community Risk Assessment/Fire Master Plan Update - Milton, ON

Dillon worked with the Town of Milton, Ontario, to create a Fire Master Plan (F.M.P.) as a component of its strategic community planning and growth development process. Initiating this fire master planning process was also consistent with industry best practices that recommend a review and update of a community’s F.M.P. based on a ten-year planning horizon.Read More

Fire Protection Service Master Plan - LaSalle, ON

Dillon completed the Fire Protection Services Master Plan (F.P.S.M.P.) and Community Risk Assessment (C.R.A.) for the Town of LaSalle. The C.R.A. included consideration of nine profiles as required by the Ontario Regulation 378/18: Community Risk Assessments. Read More

Brantford Master Fire Plan - Brantford, ON

The City of Brantford retained Dillon to develop a Master Fire Plan (MFP)  and Community Risk Assessment (CRA). The MFP involved a comprehensive review of fire suppression and non-fire suppression activities within the Brantford Fire Department. The analysis provided within the MFP analyzed the current programs and services provided by the Brantford Fire Department and identified opportunities in applying the first “two lines of defense” including application of public fire and life safety education and fire safety standards and fire code enforcement.Read More
