Doug Bell Geoscientists Canada Board of Directors

Doug Bell has recently accepted an appointment as a Director for Geoscientists Canada and has stepped down as a Councillor for Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM). He has served as an EGM Councillor for the past three years and has held numerous previous positions including Executive Committee, Registration Committee, Environment and Sustainable Development Vice Chair,  and the initial committee to include geoscientist registration with the provincial engineering association in Manitoba.

Geoscientists Canada is the national organization of the nine provincial and territorial regulatory bodies that govern Canada’s professional geoscientists and geoscientists-in-training. Geoscientists Canada coordinates development of high national standards of admissions, competency, practice and mobility to ensure that Canada is served by a skilled, versatile, reputable and accountable geoscience profession.

Doug Bell is a hydrogeologist and partner in Dillon's Winnipeg office. He has over 30 years of geological, environmental and hydrogeological experience and has managed numerous environmental assessments, site characterizations and reclamation projects involving various public sector and commercial/industrial facilities and waste management sites. Doug has extensive experience with the development and implementation of environmental management plans, including monitoring and remediation activities, emergency spill response and liaison with regulatory agencies. He also has specialized expertise in Brownfield site assessment and re-development including the preparation of contingency action plans and closure plans for facilities.
