Britannia Shipyards Project Featured in EGBC Innovation Magazine

The Britannia Shipyards Flood Protection Improvements Project was featured in Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)'s May/June 2019 volume of Innovation Magazine. "The 2018 | 2019 Project Highlights showcase recent engineering and geoscience work by Engineers and Geoscientists BC members in BC and elsewhere."

Increases in the frequency and severity of flooding events at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site in Richmond, British Columbia, threatened the condition of the historic buildings at the site that commemorate the history of the area. The Dillon team designed upgrades to the existing bulkhead to increase the elevation and integrity of the flood protection while honouring the historic form and character of the site. This project was honoured with an ACEC-BC Award of Merit in April 2019.
