Toronto

Toronto is Canada’s largest city and the 7th largest metropolitan area in North America. It is located on the shores of Lake Ontario and boasts many kilometres of waterfront varying from busy harbours, sandy beaches, the high bluffs of Scarborough and the Toronto Island archipelago.

Named for the native Toronto Passage that formed a link between Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay, the Iroquois word means “place where trees stand in the water”, in reference to Lake Toronto, found along the route of that Passage; now called Lake Simcoe.

Toronto is a great place to live in. Our large, multi-cultural city boasts the biggest Caribbean parade in North America; we have an amazing view of the waterfront from the CN Tower (billed as the tallest building in the world). Let your imagination be your guide … this is a city with limitless possibilities.

We opened our office doors in 1956 and are located just minutes from downtown and major highways. Our team of hardworking professionals, ranging from planners to engineers (and everything in between), provides services to our clients in the public and private sectors, such as urban planning, land development, waste management and transportation planning and engineering.

Since our establishment in Toronto, our staff has contributed significantly to the planning and development of the GTA. Freeways, subways, water/wastewater, waste management, community planning, land development, environmental management, power and a host of other attributes of a great city have been shaped by Dillon.
